Players to Watch
Elise Hani – Middle Blocker – HS: Lake Washington – 2022
Elise Hani is among the most interesting prospects in SIVBC 17 Storm’s roster and it’s easy to realize why – she’s 6’4” and very athletic. She’s one of just a few middles who can carry their team’s offensive load, which she has been doing for her high school team Lake Washington. Her extremely high contact point gives her a tremendous advantage on offense and she’s also a very effective blocker due to her impressive reach and improved mobility at the net. Hani has recently been named to the USA Volleyball 2021 indoor girls U19 summer training series.
Jenna Legault Jenna Legault 5'11" | OH Bothell | 2022 WA – Outside Hitter – HS: Bothell – 2022
Jenna Legault Jenna Legault 5'11" | OH Bothell | 2022 WA can do-it-all in a volleyball court and that’s exactly what you’d want from an outside hitter. The six-footer is a factor at the net and typically puts up big numbers on offense, as she’s been doing for her high school team Bothell. She’s nearly unstoppable when she hits angle due to her reach and her ability to avoid opposing blockers. Legault is also very technical, which reflects well on her backcourt game and makes of her an excellent defender and an efficient passer.
Diya Mishra – Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter – HS: Overlake – 2022
Diya Mishra forms a strong middle blocker combination with Heni. While her teammate’s game is understandably predicated on her size, the 5’11” Mishra brings a little bit more of versatility and all-around skills to the game. She hits a really quick set down the middle and manages to put a lot of power on it – this way she registered more than 100 kills in each of the last two high school seasons with Overlake. Her backcourt game is also solid and it allows her to play as an outside hitter as well.
