Gabriel Bolton- Whitney Young High School
Bolton is a very defensive player and uses her height to an advantage on the court. The thing that stands out with Bolton is her ability to move with the ball and her ability to reflect the ball well. She can get low, move swift while low and communicates with her teammates when moving the ball across the court. Bolton is a very well developed and fundamentally structured athlete. She is a athlete to highlight and continue watching throughout the seasons.
Mia Sanchez- Westinghouse High School/360 Sports Academy
Sanchez is a very fun and skilled athlete that I enjoy watching when she is active on the court. Sanchez is a true hustler on the court, and she makes it her job to be there when the ball is in the right place, even if her teammates are not. Sanchez can get low and reflect the ball, and her blocking is another strength of her’s when it comes to keeping the ball from coming onto her side of the court. Sanchez tends to work well not only with the ball, but the her ball handling and positioning skills when it comes to the location of the ball.
India Finch- Disney II Magnet School
Finch is a very new face to the volleyball setting thus far and with that being said, I had the opportunity to see her in person and analyze the type of skill set that she has. Finch is a very well rounded athlete and she is definitely going to be a solid athlete with the use of more fundamental training. What caught my eye is Finch is not afraid of the ball and when the ball is set up at the right height and moment, she will go in for the kill. Finch stands at 5’8″ and does not fail to use her height to her advantage.
Tiana Martin- Westinghouse High School
Martin is another athlete who I have not had the opportunity to watch overtime and learn her strengths on the court, however, after being able to have the opportunity to watch her perform at a camp, Martin is a very solid and suitable defender. Standing at 5’1″, she can get low to the ground and is not afraid to dig into the floor in order to save the ball. Martin is a very attentive athlete and her head is always on a swivel when she is on the court and knows where the ball is at all times, which is impressive. Martin is a very strong willed athlete and I believe with the strengthening of her fundamental training, she will be a very solid and secured elite athlete.
