Fremont-Mills got hit by the quarantining nightmare and had 4 matches either postponed and never played or outright canceled. Numbers can tell you a lot about a team, but only if they are accrued correctly over a long period of time and this was not one of those times. It would be like trying to run a car race but two cars have to stop every two blocks for stop signs, and there are no modifications to even out the odds with the other teams. Kenna Howard is a fantastic middle hitter. In club ball, she played with the 18s in her junior year because she was that good. Kaelynn Driskell is a phenomenal setter who I do not believe got to use all of her skills due to the same thing, COVID quarantining rules. It was not fun, it hit all of our high school teams, and it made our seasons look, at best, as if someone were sick or injured in the stats. That being said, Fremont-Mills has good volleyball players and a bunch of these juniors and sophomores who played a majority of the sets that the Knights did get to play in 2020, will have tons of experience when they return to the court this season. I look for Fremont-Mills to be just as strong as ever this year, especially after taking some time to regroup, grow, and get an influx of underclassmen who are waiting in the wings for their second season of varsity volleyball in their sophomore and junior years.
