Continue ReadingThe offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the high school volleyball season and have been also hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have made their decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Melanie McGann [2022] 6-3 Right Side (HS: Keller/Club: Texas Advantage /Verbal: West Virginia)
Melanie is currently unrankedin the 2022 Class but that will absolutely change once I update the rankings next month. She is a phenomenal player for Keller High School and also for the nationally recognized Texas Advantage Volleyball. We are very pleased to announce that she recently chose to verbally commit to West Virginia. The Mountaineers will enjoy her height and show stopping abilities on the court. Her long reach will adapt very well to the collegiate blocking scheme of WVU. She presses extremely well to seal the net against the opponents power left side pin attackers. Her upper body strength allows her to solidify a solid block on the right. She possesses the ability to hit both through the block and around it with power. Please congratulate her on her great accomplishment of playing at the next level. We look forward to covering her senior season this year.
Temi Areola Temi Areola 5'10" | RS Kingwood | 2021 State TX [2021] 5-11 Right Side (HS: Kingwood/Club: TAV Houston/Verbal: Stephen F Austin)
Miss Areola is currently ranked as the 105th top prospect in the 2021 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. We wrote about her a few times this past year and here is a little from the articles, “She is a high flying right side blocker/attacker for her Kingwood high school team and TAV Houston club team. She regularly hits over opposing blockers as she has so much bounce in her approach. It is very fun to watch Miss Areola hit a quick behind her setter as the block is usually too slow to put up some hands to slow her down. I am very sure that some college out there would love to have her athleticism on their roster. Be on the lookout for her to breakout even more during her senior season at Kingwood. She has gotten much better and is doing extremely well for both TAV Houston and Kingwood this year. This past season she helped Kingwood to a 20-3 overall record and an 11-1 district record. In two years on Varsity she was able to amass 234 kills, .246 hitting efficiency, 76 total blocks and 19 aces. She is still killing it on the pins and should definitely be looked at by any program who still needs to add some firepower. She has some serious hops and great hang-time. This is on full display during her blocking with her long arms. She can be a shut down right side for someone. We love the lightning she has in her right arm swing. She can unload on the ball with the best of them. Take a look at her this season and you will not be disappointed.” We are pleased to announce that she recently committed to Stephen F Austin to play volleyball. She will be a great fit for the Lumberjacks as she brings such versatility and athleticism to their roster. Please congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball at the Division 1 level. We will be cheering her on during her collegiate career.
Bailey Hanner (2022) 6-2 Outside (HS: Fort Bend Christian/Club: Houston Skyline/Verbal: Texas State University)
Bailey is currently unranked in the state according to our Prep Dig State Rankings, but that will likely change next month when I update the rankings. She is a wonderful lengthy outside hitter from Fort Bend Christian and also from the powerhouse Houston Skyline club. We are proud to announce that she recently verbally committed to Texas State University. Her long frame is exactly what the Bobcats need to stay dominant in their conference in a few years. She is no stranger to playing at a high level as she has won a national championship with her Skyline squad once in her junior career. This past season they triple qualified in the Open Division for the USA Junior National Championships and were the best team in the city of Houston. We will love covering her senior season as she gets ready to play at the next level. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of playing college volleyball.
