While there was lots of fluctuation in the updated 2023 rankings list, there were three athletes that made jumps from where they were to where they are ranked now. Let’s take a look at the names!
Brookelyn Talmadge Brookelyn Talmadge 6'0" | MB Immaculate Heart | 2023 State NJ , MB, Immaculate Heart
19-> 7
Talmadge took on the number one role at Immaculate Heart with open arms last season and she ran with it. She helped continue Immaculate Heart’s dominance to another district title. Her athleticism and length in the middle complimenting a live-arm and the ability to hit on angles makes her almost impossible. Immaculate Heart is in good hands with her leading the way.
Mia Pimentel Mia Pimentel S Bogota | 2023 State NJ , S, Bogota
21-> 14
Pimental had 94 assists and 60 service points last season splitting time with Amber Vazquez Amber Vazquez S Bogota | 2021 State NJ at Bogota and a part of Bogota’s perfect campaign. Her volleyball IQ is off the charts and can make every pass with pinpoint precision. Going into this season, it will finally be her show. Expect her to truly show her greatness on the court as the catalyst for Bogota.
Lorie Horta Lorie Horta S Roxbury | 2023 State NJ , S, Roxbury
22->15
Horta exploded onto the scene last spring as I expected her too with Quinn Longo moving over to OH from S. Horta showcased her pinpoint accuracy and ball placement to make Roxbury a formidable foe last season. She averaged 20 assists a match and she’s only been getting better. If we thought she would explode last season and she did. I can only imagine the monster season she could have this fall.
