Emery Moore Emery Moore 5'10" | S North Central | 2024 State IN , 5-9 S, North Central
Not normally a volleyball power, NC has shown their mettle in recent years with a slowly improving program and more kids playing club. None of the Panthers have risen faster that Emery. She ran a 5-1 for Circle’s 15-1, is highly athletic (more than most in this class), and is constantly improving every time I see her. This is a next-level setter that will only get better with time.
Macy Hinshaw Macy Hinshaw 5'9" | S Hamilton Southeastern | 2024 State #75 Nation IN , 5-9 S, Hamilton Southeastern
Macy is also at Circle, running the 16-1 show last spring. I had her lower on my rankings than Emery because of her jumping ability and upper body strength. She’s shown a ton of improvement to both since the beginning of club season, and is fully capable of running the offense in any high-level atmosphere. Her determination and serious approach to her training has separated her from the pack and has earned her this nod.
Ava Utterback Ava Utterback 5'10" | OH Plainfield | 2024 State #24 Nation IN , 5-10 OH, Plainfield
Playing high school ball in the shadow of Circle used to not mean much. These days, Plainfield is producing a ton of solid Division I recruits, and the next one up is Ava. A high-flying pin attacker that terminates at will, she showed how good she’s become at the Crown Point tournament this past weekend, which had a ton of top ten teams from around the state. Ava proved her worth, and will be a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
Annie Canada Annie Canada 5'10" | MB Pendleton Heights | 2024 State IN , 5-10 MB, Pendleton Heights
From virtually nowhere comes a middle who plays longer and taller than her size. Annie attacks zero tempo balls well, is an above average blocker, and is working on her slide attack. This Munciana-trained kid has played for a while now, and is starting to understand that her speed will beat blocks too.
Sophia Damer Sophia Damer 6'1" | MB Mt. Vernon | 2024 State IN , 6-1 MB, Mount Vernon (Fortville)
Academy-trained Sophia is a bigger middle than she gets credit for, and projects to be an M2 at the next level. Her length and strength on defense gives team fits, and is up quickly enough to be effective in the middle and keep teams honest. I’m not surprised by her stock rising; she’s relentless in her training and consistent in her work ethic.
