Updated Class of 2024 Rankings
We are ready for our 3rd rankings update with the class of 2024! We only had our initial ranking last December and didn’t update in the spring. A lot has happened since that time, which leads to some shuffling in these rankings. Our first edition went solely off what we knew from the high school season. This is being mindful most of these players lost most of their club season in 2020. After navigating a pandemic, we completed a full club season which allowed us to get our eyes on many players. We watched a lot of videos! Between Ballertv, Hudl, and YouTube there was no shortage of film for players who played during the high school and club seasons.
There was some change at the top of our rankings. It’s not that our now number 3 ranked player, Carlie Cisneros Carlie Cisneros 6'0" | OH Liberty North | 2024 State #7 Nation MO didn’t play well! She was the MVP for the 15 Open National Champion Adidas Dynasty 15 Black team. However, we moved Rockwood and Lafayette pin, Claire Morrissey Claire Morrissey 6'0" | RS St Joseph’s Academy | 2024 State #22 Nation MO , up to the top slot. She was lights out playing up a division for Rockwood 16 Elite. As a six rotation pin, she earned GJNC All-Tournament honors and in our opinion showed to be the most complete player in the class. Also moving up 7 slots to the two-position is Rockwood’s Emma Parker Emma Parker 6'1" | MB Eureka | 2024 State MO . Though she played heavily in the middle this season, she showed the ability to pass and defend and proved to be a big difference-maker on the court. The beforementioned Cisneros comes in at 3. She played probably her best play when it mattered most in Las Vegas. We raved about the play of libero Olivia Hasbrook Olivia Hasbrook 5'9" | DS/L Eureka | 2024 State #56 Nation MO all season, and with good reason. She stays steady at number 4 after a strong club season. Moving up to five is the dependable pin Allison Risley Allison Risley 5'11" | OH Lafayette | 2024 State #187 Nation MO of Rockwood. She is a complete player and though not the flashiest, gets things done on the floor.
This isn’t an easy process and players get missed. If players moved up it doesn’t mean the players who slid did anything wrong, it just means we believe these players took an enormous step in their games. Our friend at Prep Dig, Chris Fritzgerald posted a great article sharing what goes into our ranking system here. Our rankings don’t dictate future success as a volleyball player or person. These rankings are subjective but we feel with the hours spent dedicated to this process, we are on the right track. With that said, here are our updated rankings for the class of 2024.
