Continue ReadingWe began our rankings last March with only the top 50 players in the state ranked on our list. We have gotten some awesome leads from parents, players, coaches, and club directors for more players we should be watching. After over a year of analyzing game film, seeing athletes in person and looking at club tournament finishes and the past high school season, we were able to add more players to the prestigious list. We now have the top 140 players in the Lone Star State ranked in the 2023 grad class. We are extremely excited to welcome these ladies to such a prestigious group. We have written about some of these athletes before, however we are going to now re-introduce them but now with their much deserved overall State Ranking attached to their name. Congratulate them on social media or in person the next time you see them. Welcome to the list ladies…
Emma Fanucchi Emma Fanucchi 5'7" | DS/L Cy Creek | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-7 Libero (HS: Cy Creek/Club: Texas Tornados /Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Emma to the 2023 Prep Dig State Rankings. We have her listed as the 121st best overall prospect in the state. Miss Fanucchi plays for Cy Creek High School and also for a great club program, Texas Tornados out of the Lone Star Region. Emma is a phenomenal young lady who excels both in the classroom and on the court. She is an extension of her coach as a leader on the court, which is why she has been selected as a captain on her teams in the past. She is a solid contributor in serve receive for the Cougars. Her size allows her to have a great range in the back row while playing out of middle back. This gives her the ability to be in a read position and be able to touch a lot of errant balls that would normally fall in a smaller defender. She has a solid jump float and is very consistent with her serve. We want to welcome her with open arms to our State Ranking List and can’t wait to watch her progress in the future. Please congratulate her on the achievement of being a top Texas volleyball player.
Brenna Heffron Brenna Heffron 5'4" | DS/L SA Reagan | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-4 Libero (HS: SA Reagan/Club: SA Juniors/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please help us welcome Brenna officially to the list as the 123rd best overall prospect in the 2023 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. Miss Heffron plays at San Antonio Reagan High School and also club for San Antonio Juniors . She stepped into the role vacated by a top ten state ranked libero in Alyssa Manitzas Alyssa Manitzas 5'2" | DS/L Cornerstone | 2023 State #85 Nation TX as she transferred to Cornerstone Christian this season. Brenna had some huge shoes to fill and so far she has fit into them very nicely as she routinely posts double digit digs in each match to help Reagan to a 31-6 overall record and a 6-1 district record. She has stellar defensive skills and has no problem sprawling out for off-speed shots from her opposing attackers. I like her excellent body control for shots that fall outside of her midline. Brenna is able to contort her body well to keep the defensive ball in-system toward her setter. We will keep our eye on her to see if she has what it takes to move up the rankings throughout the years. Please congratulate her on being part of the Prep Dig State Rankings. We are excited to cover her junior and senior seasons.
Hailey Nixon Hailey Nixon 5'5" | DS/L Rockwall-Heath | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-5 Libero (HS: Rockwall Heath/Club: Tejas/Verbal: Uncommitted)
Please welcome Hailey to the Prep Dig State Rankings. She has earned the right to be called the 130th best overall prospect in the 2023 class. She is a solid libero from Rockwall Heath High School and also plays club for Tejas out of the North Texas Region. She has stepped up into a bigger role than last year and has risen to the challenge as she has already eclipsed every category in the stat book from last season. I love her motor as she is always moving and is able to change speeds and direction very well. Hailey plays the position the way it is supposed to be played…hard. When coaches watch her play they will fall in love with how focused she is on the other team while they have the ball. Her soft touch allows for some really great digs from hard driven attacks. She is also on my radar to move up the rankings as the years go by. Please congratulate her on being named one of the top volleyball players in the state.
