Demarest Stays Perfect over Roxbury
Demarest continued its winning ways, sweeping Roxbury by in straight sets, 25-21, 25-13, in Demarest. It does not mean they weren’t tested. The first set looked like it was Roxbury’s early as they jumped out to an early-commanding lead but Demarest chipped away to rally and win the set. In the second, Demarest rolled easily.
Gretchen Haray would finish with a team high five blocks, while Olivia Cammalleri Olivia Cammalleri S Demarest | 2022 State NJ led Demarest with 16 assists.
Wayne Valley Dominates Passaic Tech
Wayne Valley continued their dominance against squads not named Demarest or Immaculate Heart as the punched their ticket to the Passaic County final. They never looked out of sorts and got off to quick starts in both sets as won 25-16, 25-12.
A balanced attack of seven players recording a kill was the difference as Passaic Tech was left off-balance. Isabelle Borowinski led the way with 9 kills. D’Mary De Leon had five kills for Passaic Tech in defeat.
Clifton Cruises Past Wayne Hills
Who will Wayne Valley be facing? They will take on the top overall seed in Clifton as they took down Wayne Hills in straight sets 25-12, 25-17. Clifton never let Wayne Hills truly get into the match as they jumped on them early and never looked back.
Kate Louer Kate Louer 5'9" | OH Clifton | 2022 State NJ was on her A-game utilizing a multitude of shots to lead the Clifton offense. Brooke Beach led the way for Wayne Hills in defeat trying to keep them in the match.
