This particular feature should be a good one. 16 Gold has the talent and the experience to make a serious push in the nationals race, and that journey starts soon.
Let’s get you ready for it.
Best of the Backcourt
16 Gold could be anchored by a large group of spectacular defensive specialists.
Faith Frame Faith Frame 5'6" | DS/L Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State #167 Nation NE is a name to watch after she held down the Gretna backcourt during the 2021 season. She has made great contributions to the Premier program, too, and that run should continue in the upcoming campaign.
Alivia Hausmann Alivia Hausmann 5'5" | DS/L Norris | 2024 State NE bolsters this back row and comes in with a lot of high-level experience at Norris. She should pair well with 2025 libero Sierra Pokharel Sierra Pokharel 5'4" | DS/L Millard West | 2025 State NE , who has seen plenty of time in the opposite-colored jersey while playing up a year with Premier.
Frontcourt Phenoms
While the backcourt defense will surely have a big influence on this team’s success, let’s take you through the wealth of talent that will occupy 16 Gold’s attacking positions at the net.
Lauren Medeck Lauren Medeck 5'10" | OH Papillion-La Vista South | 2024 State #31 Nation NE is back after occupying a lot of different roles with Premier last year. She even filled in on the 18s team at Nationals when her name was called. No moment is too intimidating for her.
Medeck’s Papio South teammate, Morgan Bode Morgan Bode 6'1" | MB Papillion-La Vista South | 2024 State NE , is one to watch for in the middle. Her stock has risen a ton over the past calendar year, and she’ll have a chance to shine again with 16 Gold alongside fellow Papio-area middle Mia Tvrdy Mia Tvrdy 6'0" | MB Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State #35 Nation NE .
There are plenty more options on the pins that should be mentioned here. Lauren Jones Lauren Jones 5'9" | OH Millard West | 2024 State NE brings some solid six-rotation skills to the floor, so she is definitely in the mix for extended playing time on the left. At opposite, Josie Cleveringa Josie Cleveringa 5'10" | OH North Bend Central | 2024 State NE , Aowyn Schrader, and Tanith Roush bring a lot of experience that should prove valuable as 16 Gold chases gold.
You have to round out this discussion with the setter spot, of course, and Reagan Hickey Reagan Hickey 5'8" | S Papillion-La Vista | 2024 State NE is back to lead these troops once again. She showed an uncanny ability to distribute the ball with Papillion-La Vista this year Hickey has always connected well with this Premier group, too, so her forward momentum from the high school season should continue.
Once again, it looks like Premier is fielding a team with enough firepower and defensive prowess to contend for a title. I’m anxious to see if they can realize this potential as the club season progresses.
