BOILER JUNIORS 16 GOLD
Arguably the most complete roster in the Boiler Juniors arsenal, the 16-1 has a ton of varied weapons that can come at teams from all angles. Running the show for this exceptional crew is setter Allie Shondell Allie Shondell 5'9" | S McCutcheon | 2024 State #78 Nation IN (’24, 5-10 S, McCutcheon), who just came off of running the offense for 4A state champ McCutcheon in the fall. She’s athletic, quick, has a high volleyball IQ and leads with a maturity not seen in this class of setters. Two athletes on the pins are Lexi Blankenship Lexi Blankenship 5'8" | OH McCutcheon | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-7 OH, McCutcheon) and Sienna Foster Sienna Foster 5'9" | OH Benton Central | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-10 OH, Benton Central). Lexi has all the tools to play multiple positions, and had to do so this past fall, even middle! She’s a primary-passing outside that plays bigger than her frame and smarter than her age. Sienna is such a control player, earning an outdoor bid at an 18U qualifier back in May. On the indoor scene, she’s got every shot in the book, from sharp angle to line and anywhere in between. She can hammer a heavy ball too, so watch out. My guess on the middles are Brooklyn Edmonds Brooklyn Edmonds 5'9" | OH Rossville | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-10 MB, Rossville) and Riley Resmer (’24, 6-1 MB, Noblesville). For length, look no further than Riley. She can go around, over and through any block thrown her way. Brooklyn is outstanding at choosing the right shot for the right situation, and is adept and fast at anything 2-footed.
CIRCLE CITY 15 PURPLE
The top 15s team at Circle is no slouch either. Led by setter Isabelle Brown Isabelle Brown 5'9" | S Avon | 2025 State #101 Nation IN (’25, 5-9 S, Danville), this offense has heavy attackers coming from everywhere, and Miss Brown is more than capable of distributing well to keep defenders guessing. The obvious size on this roster is Reese Dunkle Reese Dunkle 6'3" | MB Center Grove | 2025 State #31 Nation IN (’25, 6-2 MB, Center Grove), who is inching closer to that ten-foot barrier on her attack. She’s explosive in front of and behind the setter, and can defend from pin to pin with ease. I like Aubrey Runyon Aubrey Runyon 5'9" | MB Franklin Community | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-9 MB, Franklin Community), who is a quick transition-and-terminate type of player, beating most blocks because of her speed. I would not be surprised to see her in multiple positions at some time during this club season, since she was primary a right side during the fall. Speaking of pin attackers, Taylor Woods Taylor Woods 5'11" | OH West Lafayette | 2025 State IN (’25, 5-11 OH/RS, West Lafayette) can bring it on either pin, as her length and jumping ability make her not only available to hit, but hit almost anywhere on the court. Finally, I can’t say enough about Logan Bell Logan Bell 5'11" | OH Roncalli | 2025 State #24 Nation IN (’25, 5-10 OH, Roncalli). I first saw her play on 14 Purple last spring, and was convinced that she was a freshman playing down a year. Her maturity, high volleyball IQ, and ability to make this game look easy come naturally for Miss Bell, and to top it off, she’s a great teammate. This will be a fun group to watch this spring.
