As we quickly approach the Early Bird Shootout, I am previewing each team I’ll be able to see at Capitol Sports Center on Sunday. Here are some players you should know from Boiler Juniors 16 Gold and Circle City 15 Purple.


Arguably the most complete roster in the Boiler Juniors arsenal, the 16-1 has a ton of varied weapons that can come at teams from all angles. Running the show for this exceptional crew is setter  Allie Shondell Allie Shondell 5'9" | S McCutcheon | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-10 S, McCutcheon), who just came off of running the offense for 4A state champ McCutcheon in the fall. She’s athletic, quick, has a high volleyball IQ and leads with a maturity not seen in this class of setters. Two athletes on the pins are  Lexi Blankenship Lexi Blankenship 5'8" | OH McCutcheon | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-7 OH, McCutcheon) and  Sienna Foster Sienna Foster 5'9" | OH Benton Central | 2024 State IN (’24, 5-10 OH, Benton Central). Lexi has all the tools to play multiple positions, and had to do so this past fall, even middle! She’s a primary-passing outside that plays bigger than her frame and smarter than her age. Sienna is such a control player, earning an outdoor bid at an 18U qualifier back in May.
