During the week, we’ll present some 18s teams that will compete in the tournament. This time we’ll highlight WVBA 18 Adidas, the top team from the Washington Volleyball Academy out of Lynwood.
Players to Watch:
Isabella Christensen – Outside Hitter/Right Sider – HS: Lake Stevens – 2023
A long and powerful pin hitter, Isabella Christensen has what it takes to carry any team’s offense. Standing at 6’2”, she’s hard to stop at the net by her size alone, but her offensive game has a lot more than that as she’s also very intelligent with her shot selection and versatile, being able to score from the left or the right. That was in full display during the last high school season, when she led a strong Lake Stevens team in kills with 225 kills. She still has room for improvement when it comes to her backcourt game and has another full season to do so before she joins the United States Air Force Academy.
Hayli Tri – Middle Blocker – HS: Lake Stevens – 2023
Another Lake Stevens class of 2023 prospect who has already committed to a collegiate career, Hayli Tri is one of the most solid middle blockers in the entire state. A Western Washington commit, the six-foot was absolutely lights out for the Lady Vikings a few months ago, registering 140 kills, 85 blocks and 34 aces on her way to make it to the Washington Coaches Association All-State first team. Tri has extremely quick feet and a noticeable net presence, which allows her to impact the game on both sides of the ball.
