Show Me
Rockwood Thunder 18 Elite was able to grab an open bid thanks to the trickle-down with their third-place tie with Mavs KC 17-1. They went 5-4 on the weekend. Juliette Myrick Juliette Myrick 5'11" | S Eureka | 2023 State #100 Nation MO continues to shine from the setter position. Over in the USA Division, Mavs 816 17-1 was close to perfect going 8-1 and grabbing the gold ball. Recent Houston commit Ashlyn Bellamy Ashlyn Bellamy 6'1" | OH Lee's Summit | 2023 State MO is a strong pin who has developed her six rotation game. The Liberty Division saw Invasion 17 Blue fall just short after a third-place finish. They do already hold an American bid from Northern Lights.
Lone Star
In the Open Division, KC Power 17-1 fought their way to a fifth-place finish in the top division. The fifth-place finish and 7-2 finish were good enough to earn a bid after a strong showing. Ella Swindle Ella Swindle 6'2" | S Rock Bridge | 2023 State #6 Nation MO is among the top setters in the country. Kansas United 17-1 battled it out in the American Division and finished tied for 9th.
Windy City
The best showing in the USA Division in Chicago was a ninth-place weekend from Shock 17 Under Armour from the Gateway Region. They gave us a 4-3 record over the weekend. Invasion 17 Blue suffered the same heartache as with Show Me, finishing in the third position with no trickle down in play. In the same bracket, Mavs KC 17-3 ended up in fifth place.
Big South
HPSTL 17 Royal ventured to Atlanta for an attempt at an Open bid. They went 5-3, a good showing for 17th place. The USA Division saw Rockwood Thunder 17 Navy fight for a bid. They only saw one loss throughout the tournament but it came at the wrong time and they would end up tied for 5th. Invasion 17 Black went and won the whole thing in the Liberty division. A perfect 9-0 weekend saw wins over MVA 17-1 and AIM 17-1.
NEQ
We don’t get many teams traveling to Philadelphia for qualifiers but Mizuno Club North 17-1 did it in 2022. They participated in the USA Division and finished 23rd, going 5-3. A player we will be talking about soon in an upcoming article is 2023 MB Sanoma Hunter Sanoma Hunter 6'0" | MB Van Horn | 2023 State MO . Core STL 17-1 was one win from capturing the lone American bid after a 9-1 weekend.
