Texas is second to none when it comes to our players earning the right to play at the next level. The offers for our wonderful Texas players keep coming. We love to see the pictures and news of these players as they are achieving their dreams. We are proud to announce some news from the recruiting front. There are three more players who have just committed to college volleyball programs recently and we would like to share the news. These young ladies have been hard at work during the club and high school volleyball season. They also have been hard at work on the recruiting scene getting offers from schools and have just made their college decisions. Help us in congratulating them on the amazing news.
Jenna McMichael Jenna McMichael 5'5" | DS/L Midlothian | 2023 State TX [2023] 5-5 Libero (HS: Midlothian/Club: Dallas Skyline/Verbal: Dallas Baptist University)
Jenna is currently ranked as the 83rd best overall prospect in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is a fantastic libero from Midlothian High School and also plays club for Dallas Skyline. Some defensive specialists or liberos excel in digging or they excel in serve receive. Jenna can do it all in the back row. She is such a joy to watch as she holds her platform well after contact. Her body control is on another level as she contorts it while digging to deliver pinpoint accurate passes/digs to her setter. She is one of those fun to watch liberos that have no regard for their body as they lay out for balls well outside of her zone without hesitation. We are proud to announce that Jenna has decided to play college volleyball at the Dallas Baptist University. I think they have gotten a steal of a player as she has proven to be an elite ball control specialist. Please help us congratulate her on achieving her dream of playing at the next level.
Rachel Nordt [2023] 6-0 Middle (HS: Fulshear/Club: Catalyst/Verbal: Hardin Simmons University)
Rachel is currently an unranked prospect in the 2023 Class according to our Prep Dig Texas State Rankings. She is a solid middle from Fulshear High School and also plays club for Catalyst out of the South West Houston area. We have covered her recently this season for playing well out of the middle during a tournament at Willowbrook series. She contributes to her team both on the front line as a hitter and blocker. She also contributed well in the back row for her club team and made our all tournament team due to her all around play. She has a lot of power that she uses to score well for her club squad. Last year she had 78 kills for her high school squad and will be looking to have a great senior season. We are proud to announce that she recently committed to playing volleyball at Hardin Simmons University. Please help us congratulate Miss Nordt on achieving her dream of playing college volleyball.
Deja Benjamin [2022] 5-10 Middle (HS: Shadow Creek/Club: Houston Juniors /Signed: Texas A&M Commerce)
Miss Benjamin is currently an unranked prospect in the 2022 class according to our Prep Dig State Rankings. She is a fantastic middle from Shadow Creek High School and club volleyball at Houston Juniors . During her senior season at Shadow Creek she became the school’s career blocks record holder. This young lady is so fast off of the ground as she has tons of bounce in her lower body. I love how she is able to hit angles so well to both corners by turning in mid-air so quickly once she sees the block in front of her. Her long hang time allows her to do this easily. We are proud to announce that she has committed to playing volleyball at Texas A&M Commerce. Please help us congratulate her on realizing her dream of player at the next level.
