We are waiting to see which teams can come back stronger than the previous season and what new faces they will have on their rosters. The Ohio Valley Athletic Conference has some great programs and we should see some great match ups this season.
After a strong season last year, the Beavers come into the pre-season with an almost totally new roster. Last season the Beavers were loaded down with Seniors. Losing 8 players from their Varsity roster it will be interesting to see how they can handle a whole new lineup.
Returning for the Beavers will be 5’9 Senior, Briar Wolski who played in 73 sets last season and will be their most experienced player coming into this season. She’s a well-rounded player and hard worker on the court, so I am sure they will be looking to her for some leadership this season. Also returning will be Senior setter, Emma Joseph. At 5’6 she isn’t very intimidating to look at, however, her hustle makes up for her size. She has quick feet and great hands. She will be a great leader for this young team.
There are a couple younger players that saw some varsity time last season and will be expected to fill in those missing spots. Peyton Roberts, and sisters Chloe and Aubrey Reed will be a few players that we will keep our eyes on to see how they settle in and try to fit in on the Varsity roster.
With only 4 seniors this season, it may be a challenge to have the season they had last year. They will be expecting some of there younger players to step in and help out. With a strong program year after year, I am sure they will have no problem stepping up to the challenge.
