Utilizing a Showcase To The Fullest – Prep Dig Style
Prep Dig and USA Volleyball will be hosting showcases prior to each session of the GJNC in Indianapolis. The event goes beyond the two hours of play with articles before and after as well as extensive social media all throughout, how can athletes expand their experience beyond the event?

Communicating With a College Coach
Everyone at the showcase, players and coaches included, will be looking for something different. Some college coaches will be in attendance with a lens looking at all players, same for players, they will be open to any school. However, depending on the recruiting process there may be athletes who may be showing what they can do after a full club season and give a glimpse of what can be in the week ahead at GJNC. Do you have to be competing at this event in order to compete in the showcase? No. Any athlete from the Class of 2022-2026 is able to compete.
As for college coaches, some might be going to see only a couple of players. A personalized email to any of the colleges in attendance would be a great introduction saying you are looking forward to seeing them at the USAV/Prep Dig Showcase. Depending on NCAA or NAIA rules, athletes may be able to talk with them as well at the event.
Thank you to all of those who attended our @PrepDigWI Top 250! 200+ athletes from Wisconsin and Illinois battling it out. Thank you @stingvb1988 for being a great host!
Always rooting for you! See you this club season!

But, Colleges I’m Interested Won’t Be There
This event will be a chance to compete against some of the best as well as other athletes who are interested in playing at the college level. Top competition and a chance to play with other really talented athletes always brings the opportunity to learn and improve. Here are a few helpful ideas in being able to expand the event beyond the two hours of playing:
Invite a College Coach – don’t see the college coach on the list? Send them an email saying you will be competing at the showcase by USAV and Prep Dig prior to the USAV Nationals in Indianapolis.
Copy Articles to Send to College Coaches – Prep Dig will have articles before the event and after the event with various mentions of athletes. A snippet of an article where the athlete’s name is mentioned can be powerful. We do have a large database of college coaches as subscribers and sending them a link or a piece of an article from the event is another way to connect.

Plenty of Social Media
Prep Dig will be providing pictures and video throughout the event on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I will be providing updates at the events via my Twitter Page, @PrepDigChris and then shared out to the state accounts.
At Prep Dig I feel like I have a team of hundreds of athletes. Prepping for the Top 250 at @stingvb1988 this weekend, I get so excited to see everyone compete under one roof.

This Is Also A Preview For Prep Dig Scouts
We will have scouts on hand running the showcase with our lead scout, Michale De Leon running the show out where he is out of Texas. I will be on hand for both showcases as well with plenty of notes, videos, pictures, and recaps. This is a great way for athletes to get on the Prep Dig radar where we can write about you all year long, as well as pass names along to our in-state scouts. There will be multiple scouts on the ground for both sessions of the GJNC Nationals in Indianapolis June 26-July 5.
