Yesterday Licking Team camp was held at several locations around Farmington, and I got to preview some teams. Farmington took out South Iron and Valle Catholic 25-16, 25-14 to win the top bracket. Here are some top performers for the 2023 Farmington Licking Team camp recruits.
120. Jade Roth Jade Roth 6'0" | MB Farmington | 2023 State MO – 6’1” – Middle – Farmington
I become more impressed with her athleticism every time I watch her play. A lengthy mobile middle close to the pins quickly and springs off the floor with her head above the net. When she gets a hold of the ball, the defense has a chance of picking it up. Bouncing the ball isn’t new, but yesterday I watched her bounce the ball several times.
NR. Jalena Gray – 5’10”- Outside – Farmington
Farmington has a solid team again this year, and Gray is a six-rotation outside that saw some time set during the camp. A powerful outside playing with passion and intensity doesn’t let up once she rotates to the backcourt.
NR. Halli Bollinger – 5’11” – Middle – Meadow Heights
A surprise player for me in the 2023 class at the team camp is Bollinger. The passion for the game pours out of this kid. A six-rotation middle with a solid vertical and powerful swing was a bright spot for the Panthers. I see her getting solid looks from Juco coaches if she chooses volleyball over basketball at the next level.
118. Drew Gayle Drew Gayle 5'10" | S South Iron | 2023 State MO – 5’10 – Middle/Setter – South Iron
Drew is coming off a successful junior year, leading her Panthers to a fourth-place finish in Class 1. Height and skill set are there to run the offense in college. The middle/setter does a little bit of it all for her high school team but was the primary setter for her H2 club team.
112. Grace Hicks Grace Hicks 5'5" | S Lesterville | 2023 State MO – 5’5 – Setter – Lesterville
After a stellar junior year where Hicks would end with 934 assists to put her over 2000 career assists, she’ll be running the show for the Bearcats in her final season. She can run the offense for a JUCO, NAIA, or small DII. What she lacks in height she more than makes up for with accuracy and runs a quicker paced offense for a Class 1 team.
