Monroeville had a great run last season, making it far into the tournament. They finished 2nd in the Firelands conference with a record of 13-2 and ended the season with an overall record of 23-5. This year, the Eagles are looking great. Although they lost their top hitter and blocker, they will be returning quite a few players that will be making a big impact this season.
Maddie Daniel Maddie Daniel 5'8" | OH Monroeville | 2023 State OH , an incoming senior, who was 2nd on the team in kills last season will be a go-to player this year. She will surely be a leader and her team will be looking to her to make those big plays. Lilly Barman, another incoming senior will be the teams go-to for blocking. She is quick off the ground and able to get her hands over the net and put pressure on the other team. Losing their main setter, this season the Eagles will be counting on Madi Clark to step up and run the offense. The senior setter will have a lot of pressure on her this season to step in and take control. Lilly White and Sophia Bishop will round out the senior players that we will be expecting big things from this season. Monroeville is stacked with seniors this season and I am excited to see how far they can make it into the tournament this year with all this experience on the team.
The Eagles will start their season with a home game against New London on 8/23. These two teams met twice last year with the Eagles coming out on top with a 3-0 victory in both matches. We will be keeping the coverage coming all season so stay tuned to see how your favorite teams do.
