They also showcase the high-powered offense and huge defensive plays that we all love to see. Their play showcases years of volleyball training, but we are getting to a point where our youth has started playing and training younger, and those big plays are showing up younger and younger. So, let’s get these young ones some due attention. These are four talented players and if you don’t know them yet, you will soon. Here are some players to watch for!
Rossum kicked off the first 2025 Rankings coming in ranked number 5 overall, but the number 1 setter out of Minnesota. If you haven’t seen her play yet, you really do need to check out her attack. She is a grenade on the court just waiting to go off and string a whole bunch of points. Her teams don’t hesitate to set her on the right in an out-of-system play because she is a very efficient attacker. Rossum is already very strong going into her sophomore year, and with a fast armswing, she will only continue to get better. She is explosive in her approach and has tremendous ball control, whether it is the 1st, 2,nd or 3rd contact. Rossum’s ability to play just about anywhere on the court certainly makes her invaluable. She is incredibly poised as a setter, and her athleticism allows her to get to just about any 2nd ball on the court. She will make Alexandria a challenge for the next 3 years.

Aubrey Wilson
Wilson makes me want to move down to Georgia to cover players like her! She is a huge presence at the net and makes most opposing hitters really uncomfortable from the get-go. She really clicked with setter Annaliese Neal (2024 – 5’8 – Konos Academy), and they were hard to stop once they found a rhythm together. Wilson will own the net on both offense and defense. When she demands attention from the opposing team, she creates so many opportunities for the entire front line. She has these long arms that seal the net and press over to create a ceiling for any set placed too tight. On the attack, she packs a real punch and swings hard angles to score in transition. Wilson has a really high contact point, and she does a nice job of hitting on top of the ball to score at will. No matter the tempo or location, she can terminate, and if you are looking for a middle, look no further.
When we move to the left side, Kopacz’s versatility can mix things up a bit. Seeing her set at the Prep Dig Sizzle shows us she is certainly well rounded and willing to do whatever her team needs her to do. She’s currently ranked #40 in the Wisconsin 2024 Prep Dig rankings in a class with some fierce competition on the pins. If you watch her hit a ball, you will see how she is so dominant at the pins. Kopacz was good a year ago, but her consistency has improved exponentially, making her a real threat. Her swing is so lethal, the opposing blockers better not be late or the defenders’ lives may be at risk. Kopacz is a real six-rotation player who has sound ball control in serve-receive and multiple shots to choose from swinging from the left side. She has mastered the art of powering through the block because her arm may be registered as a cannon. I’m excited to see how much more she improves after representing the Badger Region in Tulsa as part of the High Performance Youth team.

Tripp is currently the #12 ranked prospect in the Prep Dig WI 2025 Rankings. She has exceptional hands with great accuracy, making her a staple wanted on any team. Tripp’s 15 Navy had its ups and downs like any, but ended on a high note, taking 2nd in the USAV GJNC 15 National Division. It’s not hard to figure out that she is a big piece of that accolade. Tripp has the kind of natural accuracy for which setters wish. She isn’t super flashy because she is consistent and reads the play extremely well, so most of the time she makes her play look routine. Tripp is a strong all-around player with scrappy defense, along with smart and powerful offense in the front row. When she is called upon to attack in the front row, she does not disappoint. And she doesn’t hesitate to hit a heavy ball in the corners. Tripp has an exciting volleyball future ahead, and you will want to remember her name.
